30 Interesting Points About me.
I was born in a motel in JAX Florida.
I was deemed “shelter baby” at 4 days old.
I was adopted at age 6 months.
I was the first interstate adoption either in CA or FL or between the two. (I was too young to remember).
I was adopted by cousins on my mother’s side. So was my sister. As a result my bio sister is legally my cousin. And my adoptee brother is my 3rd cousin.
I was delivered to my new family in CA by airplane.
I now work in airlines.
I use to work in film production.
I wrote a novel. And rewrote it two more times. It’s not published.
I don’t have many girlfriends much less a girl squad because too many women bound over the incompetence of their boyfriends/husbands. as a feminist this drives me insane and advised them to breakup and most don’t love that.
I love men. Good men.
I believe there is too much man hating right now in the convo. If you focus on the negatives offered then thats what you’ll most likely will select.
I have three dads. Biological, adoptee and step dad. Two faucets of my personality come from the fact my Bio dad was a rolling stone and Step father was a reader and writer. Non were a consistent presence in my life. But maybe explains why I love men so much.
I believe a man’s value is so much more than a paycheck. I believe America’s work-life balance culture is out of whack. Good men are hot af.
I think social media in its current form is ruining the society and those at its helm should do serious self reflection. But i think that counts as opinion and not a fact about myself…
Unfortunately I still have two active platforms. Facebook, to stay in touch w community and family. I’m rarely on it. And substack which is suppose to be for writers.
I did circus silks and hammock for two years. It made me very strong but my coordination suffers and I couldn’t perform. I might go back, try again, tails between legs (get it).
I’ve moved a lot as a kid and adult. I’ve lived in suburbs, city and small town. Small town was interesting. I prefer the city.
My current goal is to move back to the city. Sometimes my husband and I look at Zillow to scroll through a list dumpy tiny apts in Park Slope.
When living in a small town I learned city residents never heard of my town, or the name of any small town. But all small towns residents know other small towns. I stopped by a bar serving population 50, and a customer not only knew my former small town 60 miles away, including the neighbors and updated me on their health. Through a hidden network the world is basically one big small town.
I like to solo travel and make friends as I go. I also like to travel w my family, although it can be a lot of work it’s worth it. I never worry about being lonely as I can occupy myself with learning new things and reading. Traveling w a romantic partner who reads is peak.
I never travel with friends.
I lived in Nice with my family for over a month. I homeschooled my oldest briefly in Barcelona fall of 24.
I have been to many places but have yet to go to South Pacific or Asia or South America. So I’m only beginning my journey.
Groupthink is real and I avoid socializing among established groups. I prefer talking one on one, dont mind dinner parties, but most parties give me too much stimulation. A party’s lifeline depends on the loudest person in the room. I usually leave early. Or make out with someone in a back room. Or go outside to talk to the smokers.
I don’t smoke.
My husband doesn’t care if I make out w someone in a back room. And I don’t care if he does the same. It’s his business. We’re not swingers. We’re not polyamorous (that was a hard lesson in groupthink). We just have views on relationships that is considered unconventional. He’s my ride or die and we’re open to any stable individual who wishes to join the journey. But tbh I’m pretty happy with my books and travel. And most people aren’t interested in such things.
Even though I’m a bit of a weirdo loner, I genuinely enjoy helping people. I love my job as a result. I get to help people who are lost, confused frustrated and make everything and their trip okay. It gives me the feels.
Things I’ll never do again; be part of a polycule, flying trapeze. Both dis regulated my system.
As a kid I had an undiagnosed learning disability. It was expected I would drop out of high school. I graduated UC Berkeley instead. I’m full of surprises.
This was fun. Please tag me if you do the same.
I realize this is a little like those annoying chain letters middle schoolers do, except Danielle always comes up w the funniest ideas, and I had to try.
Dana Blythe writes about film, relationships and travel. She generally dislikes social media. But here we are. Let’s make the best of it.

Dang, that image looks like it was taken in current-day Scotland, it’s all dreary-looking and there isn’t a hint of color anywhere.
Wouldn't that be a good date to attend ? Someone having put that much thought into it.... I once went on a date (via an app) and did this, and people say it is wrong, TMI, but wouldn't you want to know red flags up front ? There wasn't a second date. It was probably the last date I did. It was a decade ago.
